Depending on your internal processes, you may with to add custom task types in addition to the standard task type options that come out of the box with AppColl. Please note: Only account administrators can add, modify or delete task types.
Create a Custom Task Type
- Hover over the Tasks module and select Manage Task Types.
- The next page provides a list of every single tasks type in your account. Click the Add button.

- Enter a name for the Task Type in the Type Name text box.
- Select an owner from the Default Owner dropdown menu.
- Select the Deadline Type.
- Determine how the RespondBy date will be calculated by selecting the appropriate options in the Response Date and Offset By drop down menus.
- Add any further details, such as Notifications (click here for instructions), Trigger Events (a Trigger Event allows you to auto-generate a task when one or more Trigger Events occur), Files (click here for instructions), or further details such as a Comment or Description by continuing to scroll down the page.
- Click the Save button when finished.

Add Custom Task Type to a Matter
With a custom task type created, you may wish to add it to a Matter.
- Begin by going to the Matters module.
- Select the Matter you wish to work with.

- Click the Add Task for Matter button.
- Notice that for this example, there are currently no tasks associated with the Matter.

- Upon clicking the Add Task for Matter button, you will want to choose your newly created Task Type from the options.
- Review the Reference Date and Respond By date and adjust if needed.
- Click the Save button.

- Confirm the Task Type is now associated with the Matter.
