Signatures New Features March 2025

The following new features have been added to the signatures module following the first release in June of 2024.

Support for Adobe Acrobat Sign

In addition to the previous support for eSignature provider DocuSign, AppColl now supports Adobe Acrobat Sign. Both Adobe and DocuSign can be active at the same time and you can chose which provider handles a particular envelope. The previous “Manual” mode, using email to request and receive signatures, is now accomplished using “AppColl” as the eSignature provider.

Multiple recipients and documents per envelope

AppColl can now generate a single envelope that contains multiple recipients and documents (the previous limit was one document with one recipient). Consequently you can now save cost by reducing the number of envelopes processed by the eSignature provider. You can also have multiple recipients sign the same document, and specify that recipients sign in a particular order (or simultaneously).

Ability to attached unsigned documents to envelope

You can now specify documents that don't require signature to be included along with the signed documents in an envelope. This allows reference documents to be available to the recipient when they are signing. For example, you could create a rule that sends a copy of the filed patent to the inventor when they sign the assignment document. You can attached files from a specific location in the Files module, or you can attach files from a sub-folder of the matter associated with the envelope, allowing matter specific reference documents to be included.

Conditionally include documents

Both signed document and unsigned attachments can be included conditionally in an envelope. The condition can include references to the recipients contact information. For example, you can now automatically send different assignment documents to inventors based on the country of residence.

Management of envelopes from the Signatures tab in the matter details page

The Signatures tab in the matter details page has been significantly reworked to allow complete management of envelopes associated with a matter. Envelopes can be added, sent canceled and deleted. You can also regenerate signatures for that particular matter. The tab also provides clear signature status information for all inventors in the matter.

Force non-typed signature

If using DocuSign, you may now specify that recipients must provide a non-typed signature, e.g., the signature must be drawn with mouse or pen.

Regenerate signatures command in Matters module

The Matters module now has commands to re-generate signatures (base on the current set of rules). This is done in an efficient manner to prevent duplicates.

Add/Copy command to duplicate item

A new Add/Copy command has been added that allows an existing envelope to easily be duplicated and sent to different recipients.
